Opened at Bijou Theater, New York, Tuesday, Oct. 6th, 1896." "My Friend From India" was probably Du Souchet's most memorable play. One of two plays by Du Souchet produced for the movies, it was produced in 1928 by Cecil B. Demille and was directed by and stared Franklin Pangborn. The farcical comedy tells the story of an impoverished young man who is forced to impersonate a Hindu prince.
