Lightly shelf rubbed at edges. Outside page edges lightly age tanned. Boards are straight, tips are pointed, spine is square and pages are otherwise clean. Wonderful black and white illustrations, painted art and medieval carvings. Preface to the third edition: A seventh part has been added. This new material covers some hundred pages. The theory is that art is semblance - is presented systematically; Paul Krummeich has rewritten his chapter on music in the light of his newer theories; there are a few new pictures and a few other minor corrections.
