396 pages; Very Good Plus/Very Good. Attractive rust cloth boards with bright gilt lettering. Creme endpapers. Prior owner's name on first two blank pages. Tiny bit of shelf rub to spine tips. Boards are straight, tips are pointed, spine is square and pages are clean. DJ - Prior owner very neatly put clear tape around all edges, presumedly to prevent edge damage. Lightly rubbed at spine edge - before taping. Now in protective sleeve. 'Our response to art is various and always partial, and therefore open to infinite instruction, so that provisional illumination can be brought to bear from many points of view.
