TWO books. Volume I and II. Although this is the First Brentano's edition, the book was previously self published by Frank Harris in 1916. Included is G. Bernard Shaw's 32 page comments on the book, added at the end of Volume II and repaged. Dark green cloth boards with gilt lettering, and borders. Tiny name and date to front inside board. Spines are age tanned and wrinkled. Boards are very lightly faded at edges. Top outside page edges lightly foxed. Outside page edges lightly age tanned. Very little shelf rub at edges. Boards are straight, tips are pointed, spine is square and pages are otherwise clean. This book was written by Frank Harris, with criticisms in the back. In the Introduction by Frank Harris, Nice, 1910, he says: I was advised on all hands not to write this book, and some English friends who have read it urge me not to publish it.
